"Come after me - take a chance."
The UFC sent out the following press release today:
Las Vegas, NV (USA) -- Following a grueling workout at Striking Unlimited last week Friday, UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir sat down with the sports media in Las Vegas to talk UFC 100.
Mir gave advice to UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, stating the strategy he used against him the first time around might just work the second.
"If Brock really comes out and tries to abandon the running at me, heads over heels and just trying to knock, bull rush me over, I honestly think that's his best approach," said Mir, with a black shine circling his eye. "I would just come after me - take a chance, 'cause to sit there and play the cat and mouse game with me, and jab and slip and move around, I think that's a slow death for him that he can't possibly win."
UFC 100 takes place Saturday, July 11 live from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The sold out event is available live on Pay-Per-View starting at 10pm ET/7pm PT.

Um... no shit.
Brock has started his fights the same way- a quick strike followed by grappling/ takedown.
Brock is a master at wrestling while Mir has little to none... of course Brock is going to bull rush Frank over.
Granted, Frank is just trying to play mind games- goading Brock into a boxing match... although, after listening to his other statements, I think he'll have a better chance in Brock demanding a dead lift contest.

HBK below is completely right. Mir owns him standing and on the ground, all borck has is takedowns and dryhumping. Mir is a bitch aye, well all I csn say to brock is "you tapped out"! ....and couldnt even finish a heath herring with only one eyes vision!

If you think anyone's going to get their arms around Brock's head or arms, YOU need to get your head examined. The guy has no neck. Therefore - there will be no chokes against Brock. Try an arm bar - I doubt you're going to get far, his arms are huge.
Mir had it right the first time - heel hook. Only way Brock is going to be submitted is ankle locks. He made that mistake one time; I don't think he'll make it again.
Mir is going to get his head caved in, and I'm going to love every minute of it.

Mir is underestimating Brock I believe. He won last time because Brock made the mistake of standing up, which any BJJ black belt could easily counter. If Brock fights smart he can win, since he has more power, better striking (in my opinion), and obviously superior wrestling. Essentially, there are only three possible results in my eyes.
1. Brock wins by TKO
2. Mir wins by submission
3. Decision (toss up there)
I'd be STUNNED if it was anything else.

mir smashed nog handily and u pple think lesnar has a chance?mir is the future of the heavyweight divsion for a long time to come...he's a black belt in bjj and thats makes lesnars wrestling nothing compared to his bjj.nog has trained with the cuban olympic team when they won all the gold medals in the olympics and mir sliced through his standup...anyway u wanna look at it frank mir is gonna own brock lesnar.Simply put mir has been in there with tested warriors at their prime and lesnar hasnt.we can all agree that randy wasnt the same randy when he fought brock...it hadnt fought in over a year for one and it just wasnt the same randy and he prolly took brock a lil lightly and got caught mir wont make that mistake...mir is a technical fighter who fights like a machine so yall just wait and see how mir handles brock..

If Frank Mir or anyone else thinks he can beat Brock Lesnar through speed, he is out of his mind. His first two sentences apply to stereotypical big men. Nothing about Brock Lesnar is stereotypical. There is no Heavyweight in the UFC with a speed advantage over him. As for the speed = paralyzed brain approach, going into bum rush mode at the outset could've possibly thrown him off, if he hadn't made that statement! There's nothing wrong with discussing things you're working on and training, but don't give away a well-thought gameplan.

I think its funny because Mir's been the one to talk the most shit in this fight. But if it werent for a bs back of the head shot last fight Brock had him totally beat.. This up coming fight, I dont think where gonna see anything flashy I think where gonna see brock take his shot and then just slam him around if he keeps the dominant postion and just wears him down.. Because if Brock turns it into a wrestling match granted it will be boring but he will win..

It should be noted, that Mir beat Brock in his second professional fight, first in the UFC, and the ref forcing a stand-up saved Mir. As far as Mir killing Big Nog, the man was still recovering from a staph infection

Nogueira has been in a lot more fights against the best in the world. His main objective is getting whooped and having a ridiculous chin and cardio and coming back and stealing the victory.
I'm not saying Nogueira has trashed his body or doesn't train well, but comparing a guy like Nogueira to a guy like Brock is retarded. No comparison. Brock is a better, stronger all-around athlete than Nogueira. I love Nog, but you're acting like Mir has beaten Fedor the way you're talking about him "smashing" a guy like Nogueira.

nick nick..... seems like u havent been following this sport too long,u were watching too much wrestling while pple like me were up till 3 or 4 am in the morning waiting for the results of a pride show when nog was handling everybody except fedor...what frank mir did to nog has never been done EVER!! and you thing brock can hang with nog...u have no clue what ur talking about brock wouldnt last a round with nog it would be all over after the first takedown just like it will be when he fights mir...mir's bjj is so good nog never tried to take him down he didnt want mir on his back thats how good his bjj is.you need to learn your history of this thing before u start talking crap about someone like mir who has paid his dues and didnt have nobody like vinny mac make his name...the frank mir of now is 10 times more dangerous than the old frank mir before he broke his leg so u just watch and see,and stick to talkin about wrestling and things u know before u talk about pple who deserve more respect than ur willing to give..

Nick had a point in stating your dick riding him like he beat Fedor,while Mir is a great guy(and great commentator and should replace Mike Goldberg imo)
Brock not Mir is the future of heavies,how people can make the comparison i do not understand, as a green as grass rookie,Brock has stood to and torn up the best the UFC had as draw's at the time.
While yes Mir does hold the W,to say this Mir looks better is beyond ridiculous,this mir has yet to show he holds a candle to pre injury Mir.
All that being said,the conclusion is Brock has no neck,so no rape choke,his arms are bigger then mir's legs so arm subs are out,that leave's the legs.
Anyone thinking brock has not trained like a possessed madman to ensure a leg submission does not happen is Fa fa fa Foolin.
